Con Ga Cathedral

Con Ga cathedral in Da Nang was officially named Cathedral of Jesus’ s heart or Da Nang cathedral. The reason why the church is called Con Ga cathdral is because on the roof of the church has a gray chicken statue, made of light and hollowalloys. Inside the chicken statue is coated with a layer of specialchemicals. The image of the chickens is seen as the “mascot” of the church, also meaning as the weather forecast for the people. Accordingly, if the chicken turns to a direction, it will make the favorable weather conditions for that direction. But in fact, in order to prevent the chicken from breaking down by the wind because it is on the highest position of the roof, so people have designed it to turn to the wind direction.
