FESTIVAL HUE 2018

Festival Hue 2018 is a place of convergence of art among cultures of nations, to promote international exchanges , to introduce popular cultural values of Vietnam, Hue culture and promote the development of services – tourism, socio-economic development of Thua Thien Hue in the process of initiative and positive into the world. With the theme “CULTURAL HERITAGE WITH INTEGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT – ONE DESTINATION, FIVE HERITAGES”, the Tenth Festival Hue will take place from 27 April to 02 May 2018.

History of Festival Hue

The first Festival Hue was named Festival Vietnam – France held in 1992, Until 2000, it was renamed Hue Festival. Festival Hue is held every two years, is a great cultural event held in Hue to honor the cultural heritage of Hue.

The scale of Festival Hue

Festival Hue is one of the big festivals, with many community festivals rebuilt with a large space both inside and outside the city, contributed to the revitalization of cultural values of Hue.

Festival Hue 2000 takes place over 12 days, with the participation of more than 30 art units of Vietnam and France with over 1000 artists, professional and non-professional actors, attracting more than 410,000 visitors.

Today, Festival Hue 2018 attracts art troupes from 21 countries: France, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, South Korea, Mongolia, Japan, China, Thailand, Mexico, Cuba…. together the typical art troupes in the country, promising to bring attractive performances, multicolored culture.

Currently, Thua Thien Hue has been recognized by UNESCO 5 World Heritage including the Complex of Hue Monuments (1993), Royal Court Music (2003), Woodblocks of Nguyen dynasty (2010), Imperial records of Nguyen dynasty (1802 – 1945) – (2014) and Royal Literature on Hue Royal architecture (1802-1945) – (2016).
